Eften Engineering have a in house testing facilities and follows the quality assurance plan which ensures 100% quality assurance by checking and inspection at each stage right from raw materials stage to in-process inspection to final inspection of the finished product. Salient features of the same are briefly listed below.
  Butt Weld Fittings
Visual Raw material pipes / plates are visually checked for Dimensions, marking and surface finish.
Chemical The raw materials samples are analyzed for chemical composition in the chemical laboratory and the results are recorded and cross checked to correlate with the test certificate received with Raw materials for conformity with the specific requirement / grade.
Physical The samples are drawn from the finished fittings as well as raw materials and subject to tensile test and the recorded result is crosschecked to correlate with the test certificate received with raw materials for conformity and results of the finished fittings are checked for the conformity with the standards/requirements.
Hardness Test The test piece is checked for the hardness and the result is recorded and checked for the conformity with the standards.
Impact Test Samples are drawn from the raw materials as well as finished fittings and tested in Charpy Impact testing machine at sub-zero temperature. For low temperature applications, the carbon steel material conforming to ASTM A 420 Gr. WPL6 is tested at (-45) Deg. C and stainless steel materials for cryogenic service is tested at (-196) Deg. C.
ND Tests/DP/MP Non-destructive test facilities are available for conducting Dye penetrant test and magnetic particle test.
Radiography Test Plate formed welded fittings are subject to 100% radiography at weld joints to ensure the welding quality.
In process inspection for Buttweld Fittings.
During cutting, length and thickness are being checked with high accuracy. During bending wall thickness and length are thoroughly checked. During machining dimensions are verified.
  Final Inspection - Buttweld Fittings
Fittings are checked for 100% surface finish. Dimensional and visual are checked as per sampling plan, to meet the requirement of International standards. After checking the fittings in final inspection, the fittings are punched as per making specifications. Finally the products are cleared for painting and packing.
  Forged Fittings and Flanges
Incoming forged blanks are checked for dimension and visual. Further they are subjected to chemical analysis and physical tests to check and verify the chemical composition and physical properties conforming to the requirement. Accepted quantities are taken into the stock and batch code no. is punched on the blanks. This code number will be the reference for the identity of the finished fitting/flange. Results of the inspection were recorded in the incoming inspection report.

First off Inspection The first two places are inspected as per the operation standard when a machine is set up for production. The set up is approved for production, if the dimensions are within the specification limit. Details of First-off-inspection are recorded in the first off cum patrol inspection report.
Patrol Inspection Inspectors carry out patrol Inspection at regular intervals of approximately at 2 hourly intervals by taking 3 pieces. If any piece falls out of specification the set up is adjusted and previously produced pieces are verified 100%. Results of the Patrol Inspection are recorded in First-off cum Patrol Inspection Report.
  Final Inspection - Forged Fittings
Finished products are kept in batches and identified with white tags and are offered to inspection through inspection offer sheets. Samples are taken from each batch as per sampling plan and are inspected and tested for all parameters as per the quality plan. If all the parameters are conforming to the specifications, the batch is approved for dispatch. The observations are recorded in the final inspection report.
If any parameter is not conforming to the specification the batch is subjected to 100% inspection to remove the non-conforming items. Inspection status is provided as per documented procedure.
